‘The PhD research is a project, not just a research/training: it’s a highly uncertain project with a deadline.’
With these words, Prof. Juan Bolivar’s (Universidad Complutense de Madrid) presentation on PhD project management started last Tuesday in our series of monthly lectures. In addition to useful guidelines on risk assessment and awareness in a dissertation, project planning, establishing useful tools and habits for PhD management, as well as defining objectives, he also gave us tips on how to communicate clearly, concisely, and skillfully with our PhD supervisors. And who could know this better than he himself, who, among other things, supervises a PhD student in the HorizonDECADES project? 👨🎓
