🎉 One Year of DESMOL2PRO – Annual Meeting in Stuttgart 🎉
One year ago, we launched DESMOL2PRO, funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) as part of the research unit FOR 5730. Last week, our consortium reunited at Universität Stuttgart to take stock of the progress made and to shape the road ahead.
The first two days were dedicated to scientific presentations from all three units – Computational, Biocatalysis, and Engineering – showcasing the progress we’ve made together over the past year. The talks sparked lively discussions and cross-unit brainstorming, reminding us once again how much potential lies at the intersection of our disciplines. ⚗️🧬💻
The following two days shifted into a hands-on summer school format, with great lectures and workshops covering:

📊 Gaussian Processes for machine learning in chemistry – by Fred X
A heartfelt thank you to all of them for sharing their expertise and making these sessions so insightful!
A special highlight was having our Mercator Fellow Marina X (University of Zagreb / Sveučilište u Zagrebu) with us throughout the week – not only co-leading the COSMO-RS workshop, but also enriching our discussions with fresh perspectives and opening up new directions for collaboration.
What we take away from Stuttgart:
